COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Leading retail industry trade association Global Market Development Center (GMDC|Retail Tomorrow) has announced the election of its 2020 board of directors. Now in its 50th year, GMDC|Retail Tomorrow welcomes UNFI vice president Patty Fishman as its newest board chair and new board members from Southeastern Grocers, Hallmark Cards, GSK Consumer Healthcare, Willert Home Products and Intel.
“The retail industry has experienced an unprecedented transformation in recent years, and GMDC|Retail Tomorrow is well positioned to usher retailers and consumers alike into a new phase of growth,” said Fishman. “As the organization celebrates its 50th anniversary — a significant milestone in the industry — I am honored to chair the board for GMDC|Retail Tomorrow, an innovation-first association helping to connect people and companies to opportunities for growth.”
Fishman is corporate vice president of HBC/GM merchandising for UNFI, which includes responsibility for all nonfood categories including general merchandise, health, drug, personal care, baby, candy and seasonal. Since 2008, she has held various leadership roles across merchandising, including director of food, vice president of nonfood, and her current position of vice president of HBC/GM.
Newly elected members of the GMDC|Retail Tomorrow Board of Directors include:
- Amy McAnarney, vice president/general manager, Hallmark Cards
- Derek Winters, vice president of sales, Willert Home Products
- Gayle Shields, vice president, Southeastern Grocers
- Mariya Zorotovich, director of responsive retail strategy and incubation, Intel
- Tom Rinck, director of customer and industry development, GSK Consumer Healthcare
