CAMP HILL, Pa. — Rite Aid Corp. has shifted the responsibilities for one vice president and added duties for another in its latest executive maneuvers.

The pharmacy chain said Monday that Chris Hall has been named senior vice president of pharmacy business development. He previously served as senior vice president of strategic business development.

In addition, Rite Aid has promoted Matt Schroeder to group vice president of strategy and investor relations and treasurer. Schroeder, formerly vice president of financial accounting and treasury, was named treasurer in 2008.

Hall, 45, is a 23-year retail industry veteran and will now be responsible for pharmaceutical purchasing analysis, strategy and execution, acquisitions and retail pricing, according to Rite Aid. He will also oversee pharmacy program development, in-store clinics and patient compliance initiatives. Hall, who has been with the drug store chain since 2000, reports to Robert Thompson, executive vice president of pharmacy.

"Chris is an invaluable member of our management team and has made many significant contributions to the company," Thompson said in a statement. "We will continue to reap the benefits of his expertise as he takes on his new role."

Schroeder, 40, who has more than 18 years experience in finance and accounting, will continue to oversee treasury in addition to now being responsible for investor relations, risk management and planning, and business analysis. He reports to Frank Vitrano, senior executive vice president, chief financial officer and chief administrative officer.

"Since joining Rite Aid in 2000, Matt has continually proven to be a valuable asset to the company," Vitrano stated. "His ability and background will undoubtedly play a vital role in our efforts going forward."

Rite Aid has made several executive moves in recent weeks. Late last month, the company announced that president and chief operating officer John Standley will become chief executive officer in June, succeeding Mary Sammons, who will continue as chairman. And just days earlier, Rite Aid said it has appointed Bryan Shirtliff senior vice president of business development, a new position at the company.
