NACDS’ Dave Fitzsimmons recognized as Association TRENDS 2021 Association CFO of the Year

ARLINGTON, Va. — The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) is applauding Dave Fitzsimmons, senior vice president of finance and administration at NACDS, for his recognition as the Association TRENDS 2021 Association CFO of the year.

Each year, the Nonprofit CFO of the Year Awards honor the critical leadership role that CFOs play in keeping nonprofit organizations moving forward. This year, honorees will be recognized at the 2021 Nonprofit CFO of the Year Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, November 3 in Washington, DC, at the Capital Hilton. 

The annual event recognizes and honors the contributions of nonprofit financial executives who demonstrate a vision for operational excellence, innovation in finance and management and exceptional leadership and commitment to improving accountability and financial reporting.  

“We congratulate Dave for this outstanding and well-deserved honor,” said NACDS president and CEO Steven Anderson. “Throughout his time at NACDS, Dave has served NACDS with professionalism, discipline, vision and integrity. Throughout the pandemic, his stewardship has helped to empower NACDS’ support of pharmacies’ heroic COVID-19 response on behalf of the American people. We are pleased that Dave’s considerable talents are being recognized by the broader association community.”  

Fitzsimmons has been with NACDS for 25 years, starting as Accounting Manager and working his way up to be NACDS’ Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration in 2013. In his current role, Dave oversees NACDS’ financial, information technology and building logistics operations.  

Prior to NACDS, Fitzsimmons was the Controller for The Word Among Us, a large 501(c)(3) Catholic Publishing Company. Fitzsimmons still serves on the Board of the Word Among Us, recently serving as Chair of the Board and the Finance Committee.
