NACDS Annual Meeting Business Program I highlights

PALM BEACH, Fla. — The National Association of Chain Drug Stores has posted NACDS Annual Meeting highlights from the Sunday Business Program via its NACDS-TV coverage.

The first Business Program of the meeting featured presentations by Rite Aid Corp. chairman and chief executive officer John Standley, who completed his one-year term as NACDS chairman, as well as NACDS president and CEO Steve Anderson.

Providing some sound bites in this segment of NACDS-TV were Linda Filler of Walgreens, Bryan Pugh of Fred’s, Christine Morris of GenCo, Daniel Salemi of Albertsons/Safeway, Jason Gasper of mscripts, Tom Larkin of Cipla, James Scott of Cardinal Health and Darren Singer of Albertsons/Safeway.

“When you bring a bunch of competitors into the environment of a trade association, whether it’s in a board room or a committee meeting, they check their differences at the door to focus on what’s good for the industry, the [pharmacy] profession and the patients who we serve,” Anderson told NACDS-TV.

Also shown speaking at the Business Program is technology strategist Salim Ismail, executive director at Singularity University. Spotted in the audience during this NACDS-TV clip were Rite Aid’s Robert Thompson, executive vice president of pharmacy, and Tony Montini, executive vice president of merchandising.
