(Editor’s note: The NACDS has issued an action alert following the decision to forego this year’s NACDS RxIMPACT Day on Capitol Hill.)

ARLINGTON, Va. — Late-breaking changes in Congress’ operational response to COVID-19 made it appropriate to cancel the 12th Annual NACDS RxIMPACT Day on Capitol Hill that was planned for March 10-11. Over 400 advocates from across the nation were set to attend to make a huge impact for pro-patient and pro-pharmacy policies.

It remains vitally important to educate Congress about the biggest issues facing pharmacy: pharmacy closures, Medicare Part D DIR fee reforms, and privacy protections.

We continue to advocate on these issues because we know that Congress remains focused on necessary legislative action, even as Congress and pharmacy engage in the current top priority of COVID-19 response.

Pharmacy advocates from around the country were slated to meet with the ENTIRE U.S. Congress. NACDS RxIMPACT is calling on you to take 5 minutes to do YOUR part to fight for pharmacy. From our NACDS RxIMPACT website, you can simply type in your name and address once and click to send personalized letters to your elected lawmakers in Washington, D.C. on ALL of these issues that are so critical to patients and to the pharmacy community!

Our profession, our industry, and our patients are depending on you. If you have any questions about this communication, please contact Heidi Ecker, NACDS senior director of government affairs and political engagement, via email or phone at (703) 837-4121.
