ALEXANDRIA, Va. The National Community Pharmacists Association is pleased to announce these upcoming NCPA Innovation Center Growth and Profitability events for pharmacists and pharmacy team members taking place in December:

• Dec. 2 – NCPA Innovation Center’s Enhanced Services Boot Camp, in Little Rock, Ark., and with a virtual option. This is an intensive course designed to help pharmacists navigate the operations and management of an enhanced service business. Industry leader faculty will answer nitty-gritty questions about optimizing workflow, engaging staff to take on new responsibilities, and leveraging the disruption from the COVID-19 pandemic to set up the pharmacy for the future. Learn more and register.

• Dec. 7 – NASPA Pharmacy-Based Point-of-Care Testing Certificate Program. Point-of-care testing can be a profitable niche. This ACPE-accredited certificate course will help pharmacists, technicians, and students gain the skills and information necessary to develop a testing program for coronaviruses, influenza, Group A Streptococcus, HIV, and Hepatitis C. Participants will learn how to establish a successful business model and cultivate collaborative relationships with area prescribers. Sixteen hours of home study are to be completed prior to the live, virtual training on Dec. 7. Learn more and register.

Additionally, registration is open for NCPA’s 2022 Multiple Locations Conference, which will be held Feb. 23-26, 2022, at the Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach in Clearwater, Fla. According to the 2021 NCPA Digest, sponsored by Cardinal Health, 32 percent of independent community pharmacy owners have ownership in two or more pharmacies. Many others may aspire to own multiple pharmacies. NCPA’s Multiple Locations Conference is where savvy owners come to learn to manage the complexity that can come with additional stores and discover solutions and strategies to make their pharmacies thrive.
