SAN DIEGO – Pharmacist Brian Caswell of Wolkar Drug in Baxter Springs, Kan. was installed as the 2019-2020 president of the National Community Pharmacists Association on Tuesday at the organization’s Annual Convention.

“Both changing the payment model and pharmacy practice transformation are futuristic goals unimaginable even just a few years ago,” said Caswell. “NCPA strongly feels like this is the future of pharmacy. That future is possible today!”

The House of Delegates elected pharmacist Dared Price, owner of Graves Drug in Winfield, Kan., as fifth vice president, the newest association officer.

In other business, NCPA’s House of Delegates – comprised of pharmacy owners and managers representing their respective states – adopted several resolutions, including one urging policymakers to support reforms compensating pharmacists for the true cost of dispensing medicines.
