NEW YORK — A recent report from Nielsen looks at the impact the coronavirus is having on some health-related retail products in the U.S. The report noted that hand sanitizer sales are up 73% for the week ending 2/22/20 compared to the same week in 2019. Not surprisingly, demand for medical and health-safety essentials is high. In the US, the four weeks ended Feb. 22, 2020 saw 319% dollar growth and 378% unit growth for medical masks compared to the same month in 2019. Hand sanitizers are up 73% in sales during the same 4 weeks ended Feb. 22, 2020.
