Nestlé serves up latest treats for Halloween

GLENDALE, Calif. — Nestlé has added to its lineup of treats this fall with the new Nestlé Crunch Peanuts character bars for Halloween and skull-and bone-shaped SweeTarts for Día de los Muertos.

The chocolate maker said Wednesday that the Nestlé Crunch Peanuts Molded Fun Size Bars (suggested retail price of $3.49 for 11 oz. and $5.99 for 21 oz.) feature the whole gang of eight Peanutes characters from Twentieth Century Fox’s “The Peanuts Movie,” due out in theaters Nov. 6. There’s also the new Nestlé Crunch Peanuts Halloween Breakable Medallions (99 cents for 1.2 oz.), which are individually wrapped and can be shared.

And for Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), Nestlé has rolled out SweeTarts Skulls & Bones ($2.99 for 12 oz.), a festive twist on original SweeTarts that celebrates classic traditions.

In addition, Nestlé is offering assorted value bags, running from the 60-piece Boo Bag! ($9.99 for 38 oz.) and going up to 450 pieces.

Also new this fall season in the Halloween aisle, parents can choose Nestlé chocolate items without artificial flavors or colors. Nestlé is offering classics treats like Nestlé Crunch, Butterfinger, Baby Ruth, Raisinets, Goobers, Sno Caps, Oh Henry and 100 Grand labeled with the new “No Artificial Flavors or Colors” banner.

These items continue Nestlé USA’s ongoing commitment to remove artificial flavors and colors from all Nestlé chocolate candy by the end of this year. In February, the company said more than 250 products and 10 brands will be free of artificial flavors and certified colors. Products, identified by a “No Artificial Flavors or Colors” claim featured on-pack, began appearing on store shelves in mid-2015.

It plays the starring role in everything from trick-or-treat bounty to spooky house gatherings,” stated Patricia Bowles of Nestlé USA Confections & Snacks. “This year, we’re particularly thrilled to help families and friends celebrate the season with the classic Peanuts characters they love plus new exclusive and innovative treats for seasonal festivities.”
