Neu assumes chairmanship of HDMA

ARLINGTON, Va. — The Healthcare Distribution Management Association (HDMA) made two appointments to its board of directors during its third annual board and membership meeting.

AmerisourceBergen Drug Corp. president David Neu has been named HDMA chairman, while Ted Scherr, president and chief executive officer of Dakota Drug Inc., has been appointed vice chairman.

Neu takes over the chairman’s role from David Moody, CEO of Mutual Wholesale Drug Co., who continues to serve as a member of the HDMA executive ­committee.

“I am very pleased to continue to support the critical work of HDMA in my new role as chairman, and to work on behalf of the distribution industry and in conjunction with the association’s staff to help ensure the safety and security of the pharmaceutical supply chain and the health of the industry’s participants,” said Neu.

Other members of the executive committee include Kenneth Couch, president of the Smith Drug Co. division of J.M. Smith Corp.; McKesson Corp. executive vice president and group president Paul Julian; Michael Kaufmann, CEO of Cardinal Health Inc.’s Pharmaceutical Segment; and Dale Smith, chairman and CEO of H.D. Smith.

John Gray, president and CEO of HDMA, is ex officio member of the committee.
