MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.  NowRx announced on Tuesday it has received a 2021 Surescripts White Coat Award  for highest accuracy. The White Coat Award is Surescripts’ highest recognition for those who have adopted best practices and technology enhancements that demonstrate their commitment to improving patient safety and healthcare delivery.

Clear and accurate e-prescriptions benefit physicians, pharmacists and patients alike. They protect patient safety, accelerate time to therapy by eliminating confusion and rework and help ensure patients get the best possible care. Simplifying the prescription process with automated systems helps prescribers and pharmacists spend less time exchanging phone calls and faxes to clarify prescriber intent and helps alleviate provider burnout.

“Surescripts White Coat Award winners are committed to leveraging technology to increase patient safety, accelerate time to therapy and help patients get the best possible care through their efforts to create clear and accurate e-prescriptions,” said Joe Montler, Chief Customer Officer of Surescripts in a statement announcing the winners. “We applaud not only their gains in prescription accuracy, but their remarkable progress moving the entire healthcare industry forward.”

“We are extremely proud to receive this honor from the nation’s leading health information network,” said NowRx CTO Sumeet Sheokand. “NowRx has always believed that pharmacy needs a technology refresh and we’ve worked hard towards that goal for over six years. This recognition reinforces the fact that NowRx’s technology is far ahead of the competition and has a positive impact for the customer.”

Launched in 2016, NowRx has rebuilt the retail pharmacy experience to make it more convenient, accessible, and affordable. While most pharmacies use antiquated pharmacy software and manual processes, which can lead to out-of-stock issues, errors with insurance, and other problems commonly seen in pharmacy, NowRx does things differently. NowRx uses proprietary pharmacy software and robotics inside each of their pharmacies to optimize pharmacy operations and improve efficiency. This allows them to provide customer benefits like FREE same day pharmacy delivery, reduced insurance rejections and out of stock issues, lower out of pocket costs, and most importantly, amazing customer service! NowRx currently operates in eight locations and has delivered more than 365,000 prescriptions to over 35,000 customers.

In addition to same-day pharmacy delivery services, the company recently launched NowRx Telehealth. In October 2021, NowRx launched its $73 million Series C funding round. The company plans to use the funding to expand into additional territories and accelerate the technology roadmap for its proprietary pharmacy management software.
