SANTA MONICA, Calif. — OPI has set a Guinness World Record for “The World’s Longest Manicure Bar.”

The Coty Inc. nail care brand said it created a 155-foot-long manicure bar along Santa Monica, Calif.’s famous 3rd Street Promenade shopping area near the beach. More than 50 nail technicians seated at the bar gave attendees GelColor manicures with the new OPI ProHealth Top and Base Coat.

Held this past weekend, the OPI Guiness World Record event invited people to come to the bar to receive a free OPI GelColor manicure and “to help OPI make history,” OPI said. The record was officially set and declared at 5 p.m. PT on Oct. 21, with more than 500 manicures completed.

“It was a very exciting moment for OPI to achieve a Guinness World Record for ‘Longest Manicure Bar,'” commented Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI co-founder and brand ambassador. “To see so many nail technicians and so many OPI fans come together to do something as grand and fun as setting a world record was a real treat.”

Celebrities and influencers showcasing ProHealth GelColor manicures at the event including actress Peyton List and celebrity manicurist Tom Bachik, OPI’s newest global nail ambassador. Both were also available for meet-and-greets. The gathering also featured music, a step and repeat, a selfie-station, a plush lounge and OPI treats.

OPI said the exclusive ProHealth Base and Top Coat technology provides healthier looking nails during wear and even after removal. When used with OPI GelColor, the event attendees received a GelColor manicure that can be removed scrape-free in as soon as seven minutes without the worry of damaging nails, according to the company.
