P&G coupons help in fight vs. breast cancer

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

CINCINNATI — Procter & Gamble Co. will donate money to the National Breast Cancer Foundation for coupons redeemed from upcoming editions of the P&G brandSAVER booklet.

P&G said Monday that two special editions of the brandSAVER coupon booklet will offer over $160 in combined savings for P&G products, and for every brandSAVER coupon redeemed from the booklets, a 2 cent donation will be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation to help fund education programs nationwide.

The effort is part of the launch of the third year of P&G’s GIVE HOPE program, a partnership with the National Breast Cancer Foundation to raise awareness and educate women about the importance of early detection in helping increase the chance of survival from breast cancer.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, the two GIVE HOPE brandSAVERs will be distributed in newspapers on Sept. 26 and Oct. 10 to more than 55 million homes across the country. P&G said the uncapped donation will be solely based on the number of coupons redeemed starting on Sept. 26.

To help women create and follow their own personalized early detection plan, P&G and the foundation created an interactive early detection web site at www.mypinkplan.com. The site offers customized tools and simple digital alerts to help women set up their own plan with reminders to perform self-exams and schedule clinical exams and mammograms.

"The National Breast Cancer Foundation is proud to partner with P&G through the GIVE HOPE campaign," commented Janelle Hail, founder and chief executive officer of the National Breast Cancer Foundation. "Together we can help save lives."

Numerous brands — including Venus, Swiffer, Tide, Downy and Olay — will have money-saving coupons in the special edition brandSAVERs, and P&G will also introduce limited-edition pink products in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
