Pantyhose with toe flap debuts at Duane Reade

EDGEWATER, N.J. — This month Glogover Hosiery is rolling out what it said is the first-ever performance pantyhose with a seamless toe flap, with the product making its debut at Duane Reade.

Called Convertibles, the unique pantyhose is hitting shelves in all of Duane Reade’s 250-plus drug stores in New York and New Jersey during February, according to Glogover Hosiery.

The eight-SKU pantyhose line features four sizes and two colors (black and nude), and the products carry a retail price of $9.99.

Invented by fashion entrepreneur Bonnie Glogover, Convertibles’ patented design offers women the comfort of wearing the pantyhose closed-toe or open-toe or at an ankle-high length. There’s no uncomfortable toe seam — invisible seams are located on the sides of the toe flap — and the hose converts by flipping the flap up and over the foot, allowing for open-toe shoes when pantyhose are also desired, the company said.

And when worn in the ankle-high mode, Convertibles enable women to "enjoy no-hassle pedicures, podiatry visits, carefree dancing or simply delight in being barefoot while still wearing pantyhose, according to Glogover Hosiery, which said that Glogover was inspired to create Convertibles after seeing women cutting off their hose at the ankle in a pedicure salon.

The garment is made with a shape-enhancing, control-top panty, hygienic cotton gusset and a soft waistband for a comfortable fit, the company said. Sizes run from A (starting at 4’10"/90 lbs.) through D (6’0"/230 lbs.).
