FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — PEDiNOL Pharmacal Inc. next month plans to launch Lactinol HX, a new formulation of its Lactinol brand moisturizers.

Lactinol HX leverages the moisturizing power of lactic acid to bolster skin water content, debride dead skin cells and promote complete skin health, according to the company.

In addition, unlike PEDiNOL’s Lactinol-E Creme prescription moisturizer, Lactinol HX is available over the counter.

"Lactinol HX is available without a prescription, which will provide podiatric patients with the trusted Lactinol quality without the concerns of drug formulary coverage and costly co-pays," PEDiNOL president Richard Strauss said in a statement.

The product is being rolled out in December and will be available through pharmacies, podiatrists and the PEDiNOL web site.

PEDiNOL offers a full line of podiatry-focused over-the-counter, prescription and professional pharmaceutical products, including Gris-PEG (griseofulvin ultramicrosize) Tablets USP 125 mg/250 mg, Nalfon 200 (fenoprofen calcium) 200 mg capsules and Fungoid Tincture (miconazole nitrate 2%).
