CINCINNATI — Pepto Bismol is bringing innovation to the digestive wellness category with Pepto Diarrhea and the release of Liquicaps. This new offering targets diarrhea relief and a convenient liquicap form  just in time for a summer filled with traveling, cookouts and fun.

Bacteria is a leading cause of diarrhea and it can come from the food people eat. Unlike other over-the-counter diarrhea treatments that only treat symptoms, Pepto Diarrhea treats symptoms, coats the stomach and kills bacteria that causes diarrhea. Pepto Diarrhea is said to provide fast and effective diarrhea relief and gets to the source of diarrhea.

Pepto Bismol is also bringing the first form innovation to the bismuth category in over 25 years with the launch of Pepto Bismol Liquicaps. This convenient new form provides the same relief as its liquid counterpart and allows you to take Pepto on-the-go so you are prepared for any tummy troubles this summer.

“Under the name Bismosal, Pepto Bismol was first invented in the early 1900s to address a form of cholera that caused severe diarrhea. In 1919 the product name was changed to Pepto Bismol. After 100 years of expanding the relief to cover five symptoms, we are returning to our roots with the launch of a single-symptom product focused on diarrhea relief,” said Ilonka Laviz, brand franchise director, North America Digestive Wellness. “Pepto Bismol has been a trusted product for tummy troubles for a century now, and with the introduction of Pepto Diarrhea and the Liquicap, we’re ensuring that there’s a Pepto for every consumer and every situation.”
