BOULDER, Colo. — Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy Inc. has expanded its Natural Beauty Bar services concept to five additional stores.

The services, launched last year at Pharmaca’s store in Pacific Palisades, Calif., are now also available in the chain’s outlets in Brentwood, Menlo Park, Novato and Oakland, Calif., as well as in Portland, Ore.

The Natural Beauty Bar, which offers a range of spa services, is meant to further establish Pharmaca stores as destinations for natural beauty care.

“The Natural Beauty Bars are a logical extension of our practitioners’ talents and expertise and a way to offer our customers a more convenient, comprehensive beauty experience,” said Pharmaca health and beauty category manager Tiana Ukleja in a statement.

The bar provides a menu of spa services, including waxing; eye makeup application and consultation; full makeover and consultation; and lash application. Customers also can make an appointment or just stop for free consultations with an aesthetician about skin care or color matching with the retailer’s natural cosmetics brands, which include jane iredale, Dr. Hauschka, evanhealy and Suki.

Customers who spend $100 on cosmetics or facial care products at Pharmaca receive a complimentary mini-makeover at the Natural Beauty Bar. Under a frequent-buyer program for members of Pharmaca’s Feel Better Rewards loyalty program, customers can also receive a free brow-shaping session for every five that they buy.

Ukleja said the Natural Beauty Bar concept meets rising customer demand for waxing and cosmetic services that use salon-quality skin care and makeup.

“These are services that women used to have to go elsewhere for,” she said. “We hope that they’ll take advantage of being able to pick up their favorite beauty products and get a brow wax, all in one spot.”

Pharmaca currently operates 24 pharmacies in California, Colorado, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington, along with an online store pharmaca.com.
