Additional topics to be covered in member-only discussions during this year’s roundtable will include direct and indirect remuneration (DIR) fees; coupons/discounts/loyalty programs; and expanded scope of practice issues.

This year’s Supply Chain Summit — Navigating the Transportation Conundrum — on August 25, will take a close look at an issue dominating the news cycle—the shortage of truckers in the U.S. Trucking is a vital link in the supply chain, with more than 70% of goods in the U.S. being transported by trucks at some point before they reach consumers, according to the American Trucking Associations.

A shortage of drivers, combined with rising gas prices, increasing amounts of freight and the impact of e-commerce and home delivery on driver availability are just a some of the challenges shippers are dealing with daily. The goal of this interactive session, held on Saturday, August 25, is for participants to engage in a collaborative dialogue on how retailers and their suppliers can collaborate to work through this challenging issue.
