PharmaSmart’s role in helping consumers better manage their health has been recognized by the American Heart Association (AHA).

The Rochester, N.Y.-based company has been named to the AHA’s High Blood Pressure leadership group and noted that it currently represents the only blood pressure/biometric screening kiosk provider in the group.

To that end, a profile of PharmaSmart and its BP technology has been posted on the AHA HBP leaders site. “PharmaSmart was selected for membership due to our proven innovation and leadership in hypertension,” the company stated.

The leadership community includes leading figures in hypertension, such as top academics, professional organizations like the American Medical Association (AMA), health care systems, insurers, pharmaceutical companies and key AHA medical board members, PharmaSmart said. The group also includes leaders from industry.

PharmaSmart noted that it was a featured presenter at the 2015 AHA Annual Meeting. And earlier this year, the AMA incorporated PharmaSmart technology into its work-site health and wellness program, the company said.
