NEW YORK — Former Coca-Cola Co. executive Julia Goldin is joining Revlon Inc. as senior vice president and global chief marketing officer.

In the position, Goldin will oversee all marketing activities for Revlon’s portfolio of brands, which include Revlon color cosmetics, Almay color cosmetics, Revlon ColorSilk hair color, Revlon beauty tools and Mitchum antiperspirant-deodorants.

"I am thrilled to be joining a company that has such a strong brand heritage and is poised for growth. Revlon is one of the world’s truly iconic brands and, importantly, it is a brand which is modern and relevant to consumers of all ages," Goldin said in a statement. "I am looking forward to working with a great team of people to expand our global leadership and drive exciting innovation and interactive brand experiences across our whole portfolio in key markets around the world."

Revlon said Goldin brings to the company more than 20 years of experience in consumer packaged goods business, beginning her marketing career at Quaker Oats. She then spent 13 years at Coca-Cola, where she held senior executive marketing positions in the United States, Europe and Asia.

Most recently, Goldin served as senior vice president and deputy chief marketing officer of Coca-Cola Japan, where she oversaw the company’s multibillion dollar coffee business. Before that, she led Coca-Cola’s marketing in the United Kingdom and later in northwestern Europe.

"A key element of our business strategy is to drive profitable growth by building our strong brands," stated Alan Ennis, Revlon president and chief executive officer. "We see tremendous opportunity to build our brands with world-class marketing, which requires a talented senior executive leader to set brand strategy and coordinate and integrate marketing direction and execution across all regions and brands. Julia is a marketing visionary with global experience who will bring new thinking to our global portfolio of iconic brands."

Commented Revlon chairman Ronald Perelman, "Julia has a real understanding of the consumer experience globally. Revlon is one of the strongest consumer brand franchises in the world, and the opportunity to expand in markets that are now emerging as the next big growth area is enormous."
