CAMP HILL, Pa. — With many consumers putting extra emphasis on finding holiday deals this year, Rite Aid Corp. is offering a gift guide to aid customers as well as a gift certificate program to spur purchases.

The drug store chain said the full-color, 28-page Holiday Gift Guide, which provides helpful gift ideas for children and adults at attractive prices, is available free in all stores. Items in the guide are categorized by price and interest.

For example, gifts under $20 include the Corinne Barbie doll from the Three Musketeers line, the Teach & Talk Activity Laptop, a wireless multichannel indoor/outdoor weather station, and five large bath-and-body gift sets that include travel bags.

Gifts offered for less than $10 include the Thunder Tumbler radio-controlled car; assorted trimmers, shavers, hair clippers, hair straighteners and curlers; aromatherapy home spa kits and children’s bubble bath play sets; Dr. Scholl’s Crazy Feet massager; and a digital camera for still, video or online use.

Rite Aid said its more than 4,800 stores will be open daily until 11 p.m. from December 13 to 23, and many stores — including 24 hour locations — will be open Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

The retailer also launched a promotion called Three Days to Save that’s centered around Thanksgiving Day. Under the initiative, shoppers can get special deals on holiday items, such as the following items for under $20: two Hot Wheels cars, 50 square feet of gift wrap, a 100-bulb string of lights, a 42-piece makeup kit, a photo snow globe, A Christmas Story-themed decorative popcorn tin, Belgian Butters almond cookies and a pack of Rite Aid batteries.

"For the increasingly busy consumer, Rite Aid’s seasonal selection is the most local, affordable and convenient solution for any holiday shopping list," Bryan Shirtliff, senior vice president of category management at Rite Aid, said in a statement. "Our Three Days to Save promotion starts before and ends after Black Friday, making it easier than ever to cross off early gifts, decor, sweet treats and more from that list."

In addition, Rite Aid this week kicked off a holiday cash-back program dubbed Gift of Savings. Through December 24, customers can earn $5, $10 or $20 gift certificates for purchases ranging from $25 to more than $100.

The chain said it’s also offering Weekly Red Hot Specials through Christmas on toys and other items at the lowest advertised price of the season as well as free shipping and up to 50% off thousands of holiday gifts at www.riteaid.com.
