ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) has named former National Association of Chain Drug Stores executive Edith Rosato chief executive officer.

She succeeds Judith Cahill, who earlier this year announced that she would be retiring after 16 years as top executive at AMCP.

During her 11 years at NACDS Rosato held a variety of positions, ranging from senior vice president of strategic alliances and development to vice president of pharmacy affairs.
Most recently she was president of the NACDS Foundation and senior vice president of pharmacy affairs.

Prior to her tenure at NACDS she was director of customer development, health care systems and national accounts manager for Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories and corporate pharmaceutical buyer at CVS Corp.

At AMCP, Rosato will be responsible for all of the association’s program, financial and operational efforts.

“We are thrilled to have Edith join our organization as our new chief executive officer,” AMCP president David Clark says. “Edith’s extensive industry knowledge and excellent leadership experience make her an ideal choice for successfully guiding AMCP into the future and helping us continue to improve health care for all.”

He notes that under Cahill’s leadership, the academy grew from 500 members to 6,000 members.
