Scherr, Giacomin to lead HDMA board

ARLINGTON, Va. —  Ted Scherr, president and chief executive officer of Dakota Drug Inc., has been re-elected as chairman of the Healthcare Distribution Management Association (HDMA).

HDMA said Tuesday that Jon Giacomin, CEO of the pharmaceutical segment at Cardinal Health Inc., also has been re-elected as vice chairman.

The elections were made at the sixth HDMA Annual Board and Membership Meeting, which began Sunday and runs through Wednesday in Scottsdale, Ariz.

HDMA added that, since the association’s last annual meeting, the following directors have joined its board: Paul Dickson, president of Morris & Dickson Co.; Chad Gielen, president and CEO of Louisiana Wholesale Drug Co.; Robert Mauch, executive vice president at AmerisourceBergen Corp. and president of AmerisourceBergen Drug Corp. (ABDC); and Charles “Chip” Phillips, president of Anda Inc.

“HDMA is pleased to welcome back Ted and Jon, as well as all our new directors, as we continue the important business of ensuring the efficiency and safety of the health care supply chain for all Americans,” HDMA president and CEO John Gray commented.
