Sera Labs: a thriving CBD company with a difference

LOS ANGELES — The retail market for products containing CBD is projected to expand rapidly in the coming years amid the growing acceptance of hemp and cannabis across the country. One of the up-and-coming companies in this category is Sera Labs.

With more than 30 years of experience working as an entrepreneur with a passion for helping people, chief executive officer Nancy Duitch founded Sera Labs in July 2018. The female-run CBD company, based here, focuses on health and wellness, pain management, beauty, and pets.

“Sera Labs was founded on a simple premise: Use intelligent science to bring premium products to market,” Duitch points out. “We are a female-run company, to put it bluntly, in a male-dominated space and have already reached over $3.5 million in sales since our inception.

“We have a seasoned team with unparalleled years of experience that knows how to drive consumers into the store. Collectively, our team has generated over $4 billion in revenue.”

She notes that education is a key focus for the company. “In December we commissioned the book CBD: From Killer Weed to Miracle Molecule, which explains to the consumer everything they need and want to know about CBD. We have created a Wellness and Education Ambassador Program that goes to communities and focuses on retail locations by educating store personnel in order to increase awareness and demystify CBD.”

The company has also formed a medical advisory board, adds Duitch.

Sera Labs’ science-driven family of CBD products includes Seratopical CBD Radiant Glow (facial oil), Seratopical Day & Night Brilliance Cream, Seratopical Super Booster Serum, Seratopicin Healing Pain Relief Cream, Sera Relief CBD Tinctures, Sera Relief CBD Capsules, Sera Relief Miracle Gummies, and veterinarian-recommended Sera Pets CBD oil.

“All of our products are made with the highest-quality premium CBD, and our formulas are created with the most innovative scientific practices,” says Duitch, adding that all of the claims for the multiple active ingredients in Sera Labs’ topical products are supported by clinical studies.

“We work with the top legal counsels from the Food and Drug Administration and Federal Trade Commission, who have guided us on claims, labels and accuracy,” she says. “We are also in the process of working with one of the most prestigious international labs for clinicals on our ingestible products. Additionally, all of our products are tested by third-party laboratories for purity and consistency to ensure the absence of metals, pesticides and herbicides.”

The Sera Labs skin care line contains the most comprehensive antiaging ingredients, Duitch points out. “Our exclusive Seratopical line, including Super Booster CBD Serum and our AM/PM CBD moisturizer, utilizes a high concentration of active ingredients, including antioxidants, peptides, CBD and plant stem cells,” she says. “This powerful serum helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, diminish the appearance of age spots, and reduce skin discoloration; improves the appearance of elasticity of the skin; and helps to firm and tighten the appearance of sagging skin. Our Super Booster and AM/PM moisturizer with CBD will not leave you feeling high and dry, but will help de-stress the senses so you can now look and feel relaxed and refreshed.

“All of our products are guaranteed, made in the USA and are natural.”

Sera Labs’ ingestibles, Duitch adds, use the highest-quality CBD from the company’s organically grown and harvested CBD hemp, “and our gummies are even vegan.”

“We work exclusively with GMP-certified manufacturing, and all products are made in the USA and are non-GMO. Sera Labs products are safe, are quality consistent, deliver maximum results and are affordable.”

Duitch points out that there is a huge potential for CBD products to be sold at retail. “The possibilities are endless, which is why we think it’s incredibly important to educate retailers and consumers on how to spot quality CBD,” she says. “It’s still a bit of mystery to people; you are seeing it everywhere and are not exactly sure what to buy or how it will make you feel.”

She notes there are three top things consumers need to know when purchasing CBD products. “First, without question, check the ingredients. Make sure the product is not 100% hemp seed oil; hemp extract or cannabidiol must be an active ingredient.”

It is also important to check the company’s website for certificates of analysis and be sure the certificates clearly state that the product has less than the 0.03% THC allowable by law, she says. “Also, be sure the product does not contain herbicides, pesticides or metals.”

Continuity is also important, according to Duitch. “It’s not about what you feel, but what you don’t feel,” she says. “Some people feel a difference the first time using the product and others will need some time, which is why quality — especially scientifically supported quality — is important to ensure you and your customer have the best experience — again and again.”
