AMITYVILLE, N.Y. — Sundial Brands Inc. has expanded its hair care lineup with the SheaMoisture Jojoba Oil & Ucubba Butter collection for protective styling.

The new SheaMoisture line consists of a detangler and lacquer, a conditioning gel and serum, and a cleanser and mist.

Sundial said Wednesday that the new SheaMoisture product line features hair and scalp treatments to prepare for and maintain protective hairstyles — such as  box braids, cornrows, extensions and weaves — while addressing concerns such as cleansing, breakage and odor.

The collection consists of a detangler and lacquer to improve manageability and set the foundation for the style, a conditioning gel and serum to prevent breakage and relieve tension while styling, and a cleanser and mist to refresh and nourish the hair and scalp.

Currently available at Walmart stores, the SheaMoisture Jojoba Oil & Ucubba Butter line for protective styling includes the Jojoba Oil & Ucuuba Butter Braid-Up Conditioning Gel ($11.99), Jojoba Oil & Ucuuba Butter Braid Up & Takedown Detangler ($11.99), Jojoba Oil & Ucuuba Butter Track Tension & Itch Relief Serum ($9.99), Jojoba Oil & Ucuuba Butter Laydown Lacquer ($7.99), Jojoba Oil & Ucuuba Butter Odor Neutralizing Mist ($9.99) and Jojoba Oil & Ucuuba Butter No-Rinse Foam Cleanser ($9.99).

Key ingredients in the collection include jojoba oil to deeply hydrate to help resist breakage caused by swelling and shrinking as hair gets wet; ucuuba butter that’s rich in fast-absorbing fatty acids to support elasticity and improve manageability; and carrot seed oil to moisturize the hair and scalp to promote overall hair health and shine, according to Sundial. The products also do not contain mineral oil, parabens, phthalates, propylene glycol or sulfates, the company added.
