DETROIT, Mich. – The Greeting Card Association (GCA) announced that Detroit will play host its Annual Workshop & Retreat to be held Sep 30 – Oct 3, 2020 at the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel.

“The GCA has chosen Detroit for the location of its Annual Workshop & Retreat in 2020,” says GCA president, George White. “Our industry is at a pivotal moment; with four consecutive years of increases in the number of greeting cards mailed through the U.S. Postal Service and dramatic increases in usage by millennials, we are winning relevance in a shifting retail landscape. We are excited to use Detroit not only for our annual business workshop and retreat, but as our classroom to celebrate creativity, resilience, inventiveness, and the unique power of connectivity that greeting cards possess.”

The four-day workshop and retreat is open to all greeting card publishers, and will include facility tours and a reception at Avanti Press, located in downtown Detroit, on September 30th.  Two days of programming on October 1st and 2nd will feature thought leaders and entrepreneurs, plus owners and creators with card publishers from across the country. The Annual GCA open Board Meeting will be held on Saturday, October 3rd.

Registration is scheduled to open June 1, 2020.
