DENVER — Retailers and vendors shared their experiences on the exhibit floor at the 2015 Total Store Expo in this NACDS-TV day three report.

Hear from Luke Barnes of Ahold USA, who says the food and drug retailer is converting to a new pharmacy system; Arthur Dion of Walmart and Sam’s Club, who discusses health and wellness offerings; and Eugenia Carmichael of Rite Aid, who cites examples of what’s she’s seen in beauty care at the show.

Another highlight from Monday was an Insight Session on efforts by retailers and suppliers to use more sustainable packaging. The discussion featured Wilson Lester, senior vice president of supply chain at Rite Aid; Bill Jusko, vice president of distribution operations at CVS Health; and Dov Shenkman, group vice president of supply chain global inventory and transportation at Walgreens.

“We need packaging reform,” Rite Aid’s Lester told NACDS-TV. “We need all of our CPG companies to think about the fact that we sell mostly everything in less than a case quantity … Therefore, we need less packaging material in a case. We need everybody to pick up that mantra, and everybody to make that transition.”
