Upcoming NCPA items for pharmacy teams

ALEXANDRIA, Va.The National Community Pharmacists Association is pleased to announce

these upcoming online items for pharmacists and pharmacy team members:

  • March 28 – Beyond the Counter: Leveraging Clinical Opportunities for Success, part of our Business Booster series presented by NCPA corporate members. Pacience Edwards, PharmD and compliance manager at Transaction Data Systems, will share ways that a technology-integrated platform can aid pharmacies in overcoming barriers to implementing clinical programs essential in diversifying revenue. Learn more and register.
  • March 29 – Financial Tips to Treating the DIR Hangover webinar. NCPA is preparing a series of webinars and materials to help ease the pain of the DIR hangover, when cash flow might get tricky as new DIR rules take effect. This premiere webinar will feature pharmacy finance experts Scotty and Ollin Sykes from Sykes & Co., P.A., to talk through advocacy updates and financial tips for getting ready for upcoming DIR changes. Learn more and register.
  • April 12 – Maximizing DSME: Effective Strategies for Prescriber Marketing and Patient Recruitment, part of our monthly NCPA Learning Hour Series. Diabetes self-management education expert Travis Wolff will reveal tips and tricks for marketing and promoting DSME to both patients and prescribers. Learn more and register.
  • April 12 – Shuttered Pharmacies: A Major Hole in Health Care webinar. This timely discussion about what can be done to ease pharmacy deserts and ensure access to pharmacy services will feature Rep. Diana Harshbarger (R-Tenn.), who is a pharmacist; NCPA’s Ronna Hauser, senior vice president of policy and pharmacy affairs; Dima Qato, senior fellow at the USC Schaeffer Center; and Karen Van Nuys, executive director of the Value of Life Sciences Innovation research program at the Schaeffer Center. Learn more and register.
  • Beginning April 26 – Diabetes Accreditation Boot Camp. Presented by the NCPA Innovation Center and DSME expert Travis Wolff, this course will prepare pharmacy teams to apply for DSME accreditation. Learn more and register.

  • April 1-2 – The Pharmacy Ownership Workshop, sponsored by McKesson, in Charlotte, N.C. This is a can’t-miss program for new pharmacy owners, those planning to someday open their own store, and those considering taking the next step in the industry. Learn more and register.
  • April 19-20 – The Business of Long-Term Care Workshop, in Alexandria, Va. Presented by the NCPA Long-Term Care Division, this intensive crash course on owning and operating a long-term care pharmacy will help attendees grow their offering from a few to a few thousand beds. Learn more and register.
  • April 26-27 – NCPA’s 2023 Congressional Pharmacy Fly-In, in Alexandria, Va., and Washington, D.C. NCPA is pleased to welcome members to attend its first in-person fly-in since April 2019.
