WASHINGTON — URAC will release a white paper on the future of specialty pharmacy in conjunction with a webinar of the same topic on Wednesday, August 11. The ground-breaking white paper reflects URAC’s singular status as a convener of leaders from throughout

The paper, Specialty Pharmacy: Succeeding in a Shifting Landscape, covers the important role of specialty pharmacies, the challenges presented faced by the unique nature of specialty pharmacies, and examples of both opportunity and innovation, especially when treating patients with rare diseases. The webinar will provide insights from thought-leaders who manage specialty pharmacy patient care programs, what they’ve learned from their experiences, and models of care that have made a significant impact on patients’ lives.

“Because we work with so many specialty pharmacies, URAC is singularly positioned to bring together industry leaders to talk about the biggest trends in specialty pharmacy and share their experiences and innovations for providing the best care their uniquely complex patients,” says Heather Bonome, URAC’s Director of Pharmacy. “I’m proud of the work our team and partners have done to bring these ideas to the forefront of the conversation on specialty pharmacy.”

As a preview of the white paper, leaders from URAC and the organizations represented in the white paper will share their thoughts in a webinar on The Future of Specialty Pharmacy on Wednesday, August 11 at 3:00 p.m. Eastern. Webinar attendees will get early access to the white paper, which will be published on August 16th for general readers. Registration for the webinar is free and open to the public.
