BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Valeant Pharmaceuticals North America’s AcneFree brand has introduced AcneFree Drying Lotion, a fast-acting acne spot treatment for breakouts and occasional flare-ups.

Valeant said Monday that the hypoallergenic AcneFree Drying Lotion features a quick-drying formula that gently and instantly hides whiteheads and pimples.  The product also is an overnight treatment. Users apply it to their breakouts before bedtime and let the product work overnight to help diminish pimples for a clearer complexion in the morning, according to the company.

AcneFree Drying Lotion provides a two-phase solution to help reduce and treat breakouts. Its clear solution contains 1% salicylic acid that unclogs pores, and a pink sediment contains soothing calamine to calm the treated area and cover the affected area overnight.

The formula also includes niacinamide, which supports the skin’s natural ceramides and fatty acids essential for repairing and restoring the skin barrier, and may also reduce skin redness. The product also contains quick-drying ingredients, such as sulfur, and soothing ingredients, such as camphor, that work together to calm the skin as salicylic acid treats the affected area.
