Kimberly Scardino

DEERFIELD, Ill. — Kimberly Scardino has joined Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. as senior vice president, global controller and chief accounting officer.

Walgreens Boots Alliance said late Monday that Scardino comes to the company from American Express Co., where she was senior vice president and business advisory controller. Before that role, she served as senior vice president and Americas controller from June 2012 to March 2015 and held positions of increasing responsibility since 2006, including vice president, global head of SOX compliance and vice president and chief accounting officer of American Express Credit Corp.

Prior to joining American Express, Scardino served in accounting roles at Credit Suisse Group from 2004 to 2006 and at Lyondell Chemical Co. from 2002 to 2004. She started her career at Arthur Andersen LLP, where she was an auditor from 1994 to 2002.

At Walgreens Boots Alliance, Scardino reports to George Fairweather, executive vice president and global chief financial officer.
