DEERFIELD, Ill. — Walgreens is getting real this holiday season with the help of celebrity couple Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka. The duo has teamed up with Walgreens for a new social media campaign that embraces what it really takes to get through those unexpected and stressful holiday moments.

The digital content series, that launched this week, showcases how the couple tackles the craziness of the holidays – photo cards, last-minute gifts, decorating, entertaining, staying healthy, etc. With humor, honesty and flair, Neil and David show how Walgreens can help solve all those holiday dilemmas that inevitably pop up each season.

“Our goal with this campaign is to remind people that sometimes even when the best holiday plans can go awry, Walgreens is here to help. Neil and David are the perfect pair to really embrace those imperfect moments with humor and honesty,”  said Alyssa Raine, divisional vice president of brand marketing at Walgreens. “Through highlighting real rollercoaster holiday season moments, we hope to show our customers how Walgreens can be a real partner in taking the edge off. Total blunders become minor blips with a Walgreens around the corner.”

Content will run through Christmas and includes videos, photos as well as personal tips on Walgreens and David and Neil’s social media channels.

Raine said that this celebrity partnership complements the larger Walgreens #TrueHolidayStory campaign which also rolled out this week with TV, radio and digital spots. “Like Neil and David’s social content, the campaign spotlights real stories and shows how Walgreens can help you conquer the holiday obstacles you’re facing right now,” she added.
