He will be based at corporate headquarters in Deerfield, Ill. and oversee internal, external and divisional communications globally across the organization. His team’s responsibilities will include media relations, employee communications, financial communications, digital communications and corporate events.

Chuck Greener, who has led the company’s global communications and public affairs for nearly five years, will now focus primarily on public affairs as this function takes on an even greater importance. As senior vice president and chief public affairs officer, he will further strengthen relationships with governments at all levels in the U.S. and worldwide to advance the future of healthcare and retail in ways that best serve WBA’s customers, patients and partners.

Both Greener and Radelet will report to Ornella Barra, co-chief operating officer for WBA.

Radelet joins WBA with extensive strategic communications experience and a deep background in the consumer and technology sectors. Most recently, he served as chief communications officer and senior vice president at Hilton Worldwide. During his eight years there, he oversaw the highly-successful communications for the company’s IPO, and Hilton was named for the first time ever on Forbes’ “Most Admired Companies” and Fortune’s “Best Companies to Work For.” Previously, he achieved strong results at Sprint Nextel, AOL Time Warner, MicroStrategy and Shandwick International.

“I am thrilled to be joining the world-class leadership team and communications organization at Walgreens Boots Alliance,” Radelet said. “WBA’s truly iconic brands have been serving communities for more than 170 years, and I am looking forward to working with the team to ensure all our key audiences hear about how successful the next chapters in our history will be.”
