PharmaSmart International continues to expand retail deployments of its Blood Pressure Kiosk and cloud-based Health IT platform. This week, the company reported that the technology will be rolled out to the pharmacies of regional food and drug chain Brookshire Grocery Co. in Texas.

Other retail pharmacy operators using PharmaSmart’s technology include Rexall (see video above), Kinney Drugs, Bartell Drugs, Coborn’s, Nash Finch, Roundy’s, Associated Food Stores, Leader, Good Neighbor, Astrup Drug, Winn-Dixie, Big Y Foods, Harmons Grocery, Walmart Canada, Safeway Canada, Loblaw’s, Jean Coutu, Shoppers Drug Mart and Lawtons Drugs, among others. PharmaSmart also serves worksites, military bases, university schools of pharmacy, hospitals and medical clinics.

Independent clinical trial results published in the Journal of American Society of Hypertension (December 2014) found PharmaSmart blood pressure readings comparable to daytime ambulatory monitor results, which the company noted are the gold standard for diagnosing and managing hypertension. PharmaSmart’s PS Data Smart Health IT database currently holds more than 30 million targeted patient blood pressure readings.
