MADISON, N.J. — Next month, Advil plans to launch a television advertisements featuring TV personality Regis Philbin and his wife Joy as part of the pain reliever’s "True Advil Stories" campaign.

The Pfizer pain relief brand said Thursday that the TV commericals are available now on the TakeAdvil.com website and will begin airing on television in early October.

Focusing on the couple’s love of tennis, the TV spots were shot on their home court and spotlight how Regis Philbin takes Advil to ease the pain that comes from a long match. The Philbins have real stories to tell about how medicine helps them keep doing what they love, according to Pfizer, which noted that they are the first famous faces to join real Advil users who share their Advil stories.

"I always trust Advil to fight my pain," Regis Philbin said on the set of the commercial shoot. "With my busy lifestyle, I don’t have time for pain, but when it does hit, I rely on Advil, especially after Joy and I spend the afternoon beating our opponents on the tennis court."

The Philbins join other Americans who have told their stories of pain relief in Advil’s testimonial-style ads this year. Their stories, which can be viewed at TakeAdvil.com, show how pain often disrupts people’s busy lives and how they turn to Advil for relief.

"For more than 25 years, millions of people have trusted Advil, not just for relief but to help them do what they love without surrendering to pain," commented Srini Sripada, senior director of pain management for Pfizer Consumer Healthcare. "We know that our Advil consumers are our greatest ambassadors and that pain is something that everyone shares — famous or not. We are excited to showcase the incredible stories from so many pain sufferers who are finding relief with Advil and are thrilled that the Philbins will be sharing their story with America."

Advil is inviting users to watch the online video stories and contribute their own story. Consumers can visit TakeAdvil.com to share their Advil story for a chance to win $25,000 plus a weekend in New York City doing the types of things that Regis and Joy Philbin love to do, and will even dine with the couple. The contest entry deadline is Oct. 31.
