BOISE, Idaho — Albertsons Cos. has promoted Sean Barrett to senior vice president of advertising and marketing.
Barrett has been at Albertsons since 2015. At the time of his promotion, he was serving on the retailer’s own brands team as group vice president of innovation, product and brands.
“Sean’s depth of expertise in retail makes him the ideal leader to take on this new role,” commented Shane Sampson, chief marketing and merchandising officer of the company. “In his prior role with our Own Brands team, Sean led the rebranding and integration of our popular brands like O Organics, Open Nature and Signature across the enterprise.
“Sean also helped to drive innovation in our product development, ensuring shoppers constantly have new and exciting products to find in our stores.”
The Own Brands team expects to introduce more than 450 O Organics products and has plans to unveil 240 new Open Nature products during 2018.
Before joining Albertsons, Barrett was an advertising and marketing executive at Procter & Gamble Co. He has also worked at Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products and SEI Investments, a wealth management firm.
Sean holds a bachelor’s degree in economic and computer science from Boston College, and he earned an MBA from London Business School as well.
