NEW YORK — AllergEase has begun rolling out an all-natural herbal lozenge that provides relief to allergy sufferers.

Launched at CVS/pharmacy stores nationwide, the organic product is the first of its kind containing natural ingredients to target outdoor allergies in an effective and efficient way, according to AllergEase.

With a blend of eyebright, menthol, elderflower, vitamin C, plantain and nettle, AllergEase can be used as a supplement to one’s usual allergy medication or as an alternative, the company said.

Founder Zeeshan Kaba created AllergEase when he realized that there wasn’t a lozenge or supplement that could ease seasonal or daily allergies. He and his cousin, Dr. Omar Javery, discovered there were herbal extracts that have been used for centuries to support immune systems in high irritant environments. When each extract was individually tested, all showed effectiveness against allergy symptoms, the company said.

Each AllergEase nondrowsy allergy lozenge contains nettle, elderflower, plantain leaf, eyebright, menthol, vitamin C and organic honey, which in recent years researchers have found can aid in stifling major allergic outbreaks, AllergEase reported. Ingesting local bee pollen increases the body’s ability to fight pollen and, in turn, builds immunity against local, regionalized allergies. Both Kaba and Javery also believed that introducing organic honey in the mix was key to classifying AllergEase as a daily allergy supplement, the company said.

Recommended for ages 12 and up, AllergEase comes in a pack of 21 drops and retails for $5.99.

Besides at CVS, AllergEase will be be largely distributed at select Walgreens, Bartell Drugs and Winn-Dixie stores this month.
