VALLEY FORGE, Pa. — AmerisourceBergen Corp. has closed its $250 million deal to acquire CVS Caremark Corp. subsidiary TheraCom.

The pharmaceutical distributor said Tuesday that TheraCom, a leading provider of commercialization support services to the biotech and pharmaceutical industry, will become part of the AmerisourceBergen Consulting Services (ABCS) business unit.

AmerisourceBergen announced the acquisition in late September. The company noted that TheraCom’s custom solutions and "high-touch" service model would complement ABCS’ services and expand the unit’s pharmacy benefit reimbursement capabilities.

"The acquisition of TheraCom will significantly increase the size and scope of our consulting services offering and meaningfully expands our reimbursement, adherence and patient access services for pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturers," Steven Collis, president and chief executive officer of AmerisourceBergen, stated when the deal was announced.
