CEOs Against Cancer, an initiative of the American Cancer Society, said Frary will focus on a range of issues facing working professionals from industries across the northern half of the state. In the volunteer position, he will direct the newly established North Texas chapter to address cancer’s impact on the workforce, including improving employee health, workplace productivity and health care costs.

Frary is president of the AmerisourceBergen Specialty Group, a global leader in specialty pharmaceutical distribution and services. He has been with AmerisourceBergen since 2007, when he joined the company as a regional vice president of AmerisourceBergen Drug Co. (ABDC).

“Providing barrier-free access to treatments for patients and the providers who are supporting their battle against cancer is a enormous focus for associates at AmerisourceBergen and a topic that I’m personally passionate about,” Frary said in a statement. “To that end, I am excited and proud to work with the society to empower the North Texas business community to be leaders in the fight against cancer.”

Other corporate members of the North Texas chapter include Baylor Scott and White Health, Bank of Texas, Oncor, Cinemark USA and Lockheed Martin.

Founded in 2003 in Chicago, the American Cancer Society CEOs Against Cancer initiative numbers 18 chartered chapters nationally.
