Bartell Drugs to turn spotlight on local vendors

SEATTLE — This weekend, Bartell Drugs will kick off a weeklong promotion highlighting locally and regionally based companies and their products.

Bartell Drugs_local products displayThe Puget Sound-area drug chain said late Wednesday that it will showcase offerings from the Pacific Northwest during its Loving Local week running Feb. 12 to 18.

Special vendor sampling and in-store events will spotlight more than 150 local products to Bartell customers. Vendors will include Joe Chocolates, Moon Valley Organics, Earth Baby Mama Angel, DRY beverages, Himalayan Dog Treats and Zings bars, among others.

In-store events will feature a caricature artist or a face painter, as well as offer food and drink sampling.

Vendor sampling events will be held on Feb. 14 at the Bartell Drugs store on 4th and Jackson in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District and on Feb. 15 at the retailer’s stoe on 4th and Madison in downtown Seattle.

The in-store events are scheduled for Feb. 16 at Bartell’s Burien store, Feb. 17 at its Mill Creek store and Feb. 18 at the chain’s Ballard Commons store.

At the in-store events, Bartell Drugs also will donate to neighborhood food banks. Representatives from the Ballard Food Bank, Mill Creek Food Bank and the Highline Food Bank will be at the stores to highlight their organizations’ programs for Bartell customers.

Overall, Bartell Drugs operates 65 drug stores in Washington’s King, Snohomish and Pierce counties.
