WAYNE, Pa. — The Emerson Group has hired Shane Brown to provide category management insight to its Walmart business team.

The consumer products consulting and services firm said Brown will provide sales and category management analysis, support and strategic direction for the Walmart team and will manage the daily operations of Emerson’s Walmart office in Bentonville, Ark.

Brown comes to Emerson from Bayer HealthCare, where he held a variety of roles in sales and category management for Bayer’s over-the-counter medication businesses, working with the Walmart account, according to Emerson.

His primary responsibility was working as category captain to Walmart in the cough, cold and allergy product segment. Emerson said Brown used his knowledge of the cough, cold and allergy category in working with Bayer internal brand teams to develop and launch new items, as well as set brand strategies.
