Bi-Lo, Winn-Dixie introduce Refill Sync service

GREENVILLE, S.C., and JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — In-store pharmacies at Bi-Lo and Winn-Dixie supermarkets have launched a free prescription refill synchronization service.

Parent company Bi-Lo Holdings said Thursday that the Refill Sync service, available at all of the chains’ 482 pharmacy locations, synchronizes maintenance medication prescriptions so customers can have all of their scripts filled at the same time, regardless of the refill dates.

The program works as follows: After enrolling in Refill Sync, customers select the date for their prescriptions to be filled, and they get a courtesy call a week before to verify any changes. After the scripts have been filled, a Bi-Lo or Winn-Dixie pharmacist will call customers to confirm that the medications are ready for pickup.

Pharmacists also will provide consultations to customers to discuss any questions, problems or concerns about their health or medication.

"We know our customers don’t have time to make multiple trips to the pharmacy each month to pick up their prescriptions," John Fegan, vice president of pharmacy at Bi-Lo and Winn-Dixie, said in a statement. "With Refill Sync, it makes no difference when scripts were originally prescribed; we can synchronize them all."

The company noted that Bi-Lo and Winn-Dixie pharmacies use the same operating system, enabling pharmacists to access a customer’s information at any of those chains’ store locations.

Overall, Bi-Lo Holdings operates 684 supermarkets under the Bi-Lo and Winn-Dixie banners in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
