ELMSFORD, N.Y. — BioScrip Inc. has named Hai Tran as senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer.

The company said late Monday that Tran is slated to take over the CFO post on May 14 from Mary Jane Graves, who has been serving as interim CFO and treasurer since January 2011.

Plans call for MJ Graves to continue as a consultant to the company to ensure a smooth transition, according to BioScrip.

With nearly 20 years of financial experience, Tran joins BioScrip after most recently serving as CFO and vice president-international at Harris Healthcare Solutions, the health care arm of Harris Corp., a diversified technology firm. From 2008 to 2011 Tran was CFO of Catalyst Health Solutions Inc., a pharmacy benefit management company.

"BioScrip’s board of directors and I are delighted to welcome Hai, a highly accomplished and experienced CFO in the health care industry," BioScrip president and chief executive officer Rick Smith said in a statement. "Hai has a successful and long-standing track record, which combines strong financial skills, depth of experience in managing financial and accounting operations in high-growth environments, and acquiring and integrating businesses. We believe Hai’s experience will be particularly important as we execute the next phase of our growth initiatives, specifically expanding our footprint in infusion services and continuing to execute in our other businesses where we have key strengths. I believe we have the right leadership team in place to build on the momentum under way in 2012 and beyond."

Graves was announced as interim CFO at BioScrip on Feb. 1, 2011, when the company reported that predecessor David Froesel resigned. BioScrip had announced Froesel’s appointment as CFO on Dec. 1, 2010. Graves was the former CFO of Critical Homecare Solutions (CHS), which BioScrip acquired in early 2010.

"On behalf of the entire board and executive team," Smith stated, "I’d like to thank MJ for her many contributions to BioScrip, specifically her efforts in executing on various elements of our strategic assessment, including the sale of our pharmacy services assets. We appreciate her ongoing support."

Earlier this year, BioScrip unveiled a $225 million deal to sell its community specialty pharmacy and centralized specialty and mail service pharmacy businesses to Walgreen Co. The sale, expected to close by late April, includes BioScrip’s community specialty pharmacy network of 30 pharmacy locations in 16 states and the District of Columbia, primarily serving HIV, oncology and transplant patients.
