NEW YORK — Rally Labs LLC has rolled out Blowfish for Hangovers, described as a simple solution for hangover relief.

The company said Tuesday that Blowfish for Hangovers, a morning-after remedy with a "cult following" in New York City, is available to hangover sufferers nationwide via distribution at CVS/pharmacy drug stores.

The Blowfish formulation contains a combination of aspirin and caffeine in an effervescent tablet designed to work fast and be gentle on the stomach, according to Rally Labs. The buffered formula helps hangover sufferers rehydrate and restore alertness while providing relief for their headache. Upon waking, users dissolve two tablets in 16 ounces of water and drink. Consumers report feeling better in as little as 15 minutes, the company said.

In addition, Blowfish is the only Food and Drug Administration-registered, over-the-counter drug that is specifically formulated for hangovers, Rally Labs noted.

The company reported that according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the common hangover exacts a heavy toll on the U.S. economy, with costs from lost worker productivity and absenteeism topping $161 billion per year.

Blowfish for Hangovers carries a retail price of $11.99 for a 12-tablet pack.
