ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — Coria Laboratories has expanded its popular CeraVe skin care line with CeraVe SA Renewing Lotion.

The Valeant Pharmaceuticals North America subsidiary said Thursday that CeraVe SA Renewing Lotion is now available at drug stores and mass retailers nationwide at a suggested retail price of $14.99. It comes in an 8-ounce pump container.

According to the company, CeraVe SA Renewing Lotion exfoliates, smoothes and softens extremely dry, rough, bumpy skin — especially the rough patches found on upper arms and legs, often called "chicken skin." Developed with dermatologists, the lotion is formulated to help restore and repair skin with a unique combination of ingredients and a delivery system that helps ensure that the ingredients penetrate the skin to tackle the problem.

CeraVe SA Renewing Lotion features ceramides to help restore, repair and maintain the skin barrier, along with salicylic acid and ammonium lactate to help loosen and exfoliate dead skin cells and enable moisturizing ingredients to penetrate the deeper layers of the skin for enhanced effectiveness. The formula also contains antioxidant vitamin D to help keep skin looking smooth and hydrated.

Coria added that CeraVe’s patented Multivescular Emulsion (MVE) technology delivers these ingredients deep into skin layers over time, where they can help repair and renew extremely dry, rough, bumpy skin. MVE creates a controlled release of key ingredients so skin is continuously being nourished and hydrated throughout the day, the company said.

Other products in the CeraVe skin care line include CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion AM with SPF 30, CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion PM, CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser, CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser, CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion and CeraVe Moisturizing Cream.
