WOONSOCKET, R.I. — With summer heating up, CVS/pharmacy has announced the return of its “Free Gas Card” promotion, a program designed to help customers save on gas while shopping for everyday essentials at participating CVS stores across the country.

Through July 19, members of the ExtraCare program can earn one $10 gift card every week by spending $30 on specially marked items found in the retailer’s weekly ad.

“This promotion is back by popular demand, offering ExtraCare members savings at the pump just by shopping at CVS/pharmacy,” said Judy Sansone, senior vice president of merchandising.

“We know it’s a busy time of year, and this is the latest way we are delivering personalized value to our loyal shoppers.”

Members of the ExtraCare program can earn one $10 gift card to Shell, ExxonMobil or BP Amoco by spending $30 on hundreds of specially marked summer picnic, summer health and personal care items.

Customers can find the qualifying products throughout the weekly CVS/pharmacy circular, online through myWeekly Ad, which is a personalized version of the weekly circular, or through in-store signage in the seasonal aisle at selected locations.

All qualifying products are tagged with a “Free Gas Card” icon to make them easily identifiable.

Once ExtraCare customers reach $30 on participating products, a special coupon will print on their receipt that can be redeemed immediately in-store for the gas card.
