LAKEWOOD, Ohio — Discount Drug Mart, the regional chain that “Saves you the Run Around,” is now saving time on vehicle registration renewals. A new self-service Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles Express Kiosk opened at the Medina, Ohio-based retailer’s store at 15412 Detroit Road in Lakewood, letting drivers renew their registration and receive their validation stickers in less than two minutes.

“We are thrilled to part of the state’s BMV Self-Service Kiosk program,” said Discount Drug Mart president John Gans. “This is a perfect fit for our Lakewood store where our customers already come in to quickly pick up household items, prescriptions and food products. Now, they can check their vehicle registration off their list.”

State and local officials gathered at the store this month to officially announce the kiosk and offer a live demonstration. “The BMV is dedicated to improving the overall customer experience by providing our customers with access to innovative solutions that better meet their diverse needs,” said bureau registrar Charlie Norman. “The BMV Express Kiosks are another important step we’re taking to give Ohioans more convenient options to choose from when they are deciding how to interact with state government.”

This is Discount Drug Mart’s second self-service BMV kiosk following the 2023 debut at the Fulton Road store in Cleveland.
