ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Discount Drug Mart is sticking with Eastman Kodak Co. as its exclusive supplier of photo finishing technology, products and services.

Kodak said late Thursday that under the contract renewal, it will continue to support Discount Drug Mart’s fleet of Kodak Picture Kiosks and Kodak Adaptive Picture Exchange (APEX) thermal dry labs.

The regional drug chain, which has 70 stores across Ohio, entered its contract with Kodak in 2009 to deploy Kodak Picture Kiosk G4 Digital Stations and APEX thermal dry lab systems in all of its drug stores.

According to Kodak, Discount Drug Mart is now upgrading its fleet with the latest Kodak feature such as Facebook social network connectivity on the Kodak Picture Kiosk, duplex print capability, and Web-to-store order and fulfillment. Kodak said it’s installing the upgrades in Discount Drug Mart photo centers and expects to complete the project in time for the holiday season.

The Facebook Connect functionality enables Discount Drug Mart customers to use images from their Facebook photo albums, as well as from those of friends and family, to create personalized photo at the Kodak Picture Kiosk. Kodak said the drug chain also is implementing the Kodak Net-to-Retail connectivity platform, which allows customers to order photo products online and pick them up at their preferred Discount Drug Mart location.

Discount Drug Mart also is adding Kodak DL2100 Duplex Printers to its photo centers. Kodak said the new printers enable the pharmacy chain to offer customers a broader range of photo print products, including double-sided Kodak photo books and calendars, as well as Kodak Personal Greeting Cards.
