BELLEVUE, Wash. — Adding to its roster of online stores, drugstore.com has launched DeluxeSalonSupply.com, a business-to-business microsite that provides products and supplies to salon and spa operators.

Drugstore.com, which went live with the site this week, said DeluxeSalonSupply.com will offer an assortment of beauty products and salon/spa products such as nail, skin, hair and massage essentials, office and salon furniture, must-haves for break and locker rooms, apparel, linens, green and natural products and cleaning supplies.

A division of de-luxe Distributors Inc., a drugstore.com subsidiary, DeluxeSalonSupply.com is intended to provide beauty professionals with a faster, more efficient way to order supplies to support the daily operation of a business, according to the company.

DeluxeSalonSupply.com also features online tools to make ordering easier, as well as a customer rewards program.

Tools include Your List, which displays previous purchases for speedier reordering; Order History, which enables customers to print and inventory items they’ve ordered; the De-luxe Rewards loyalty program, which offers 5% cash back on eligible purchases during a calendar quarter; and volume discounts on select products. Customers also get free shipping on orders of $99 or more.

In a conference call in February to discuss drugstore.com’s fiscal 2009 results, chairman and chief executive Dawn Lepore said the company plans to launch five to eight new microsites this year.

The most recent launch was AllergySuperstore.com, which went live in April. Drugstore.com’s family of microsites also includes Beauty.com, VisionDirect.com, TheNaturalStore.com, SexualWellBeing.com, AtHisBest.com and SkinStore.com.
