PHILADELPHIA — The Emerson Group recently donated its time and money to the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House (PRMH) and worked  together (clients, colleagues and Emerson employees) to fill “WELCOME FAMILY drawstring bags” filled with generous donations from Emerson clients that included oral care and personal care items. They also included a personalized Welcome to RMH card and a family activity. In addition, Emerson donated two large family Jenga games for the facility as well as a $50,000 donation.

Jeff Bekos spoke at the event and shared his personal experience and how the RMH helped his family during their very difficult time.  In attendance was his family including his daughter who was  diagnosed with a rare disease that attacked her immune system when she was 13 years old. The Bekos family found comfort and support from other families at the RMH and very grateful for her recovery.

The Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House (PRMH), was the first one built in 1974. Ronald House charities have grown to 365 houses worldwide serving millions of families annually. Currently the PRMH is expanding its capacity to help serve more families. “Approximately 95% of it’s operating budget comes from personal and corporate donations, the balance from local Ronald McDonald franchisees and 90% of the staff are volunteers.
